A Bad Case of Senioritis

If senioritis hasn't hit you like a ton of bricks yet,,, teach me your ways because I have a fatal case of it.

Here is how I cope with Senioritis:

1. Napping session with the sister in her twin sized bed. (I'm definitely going to miss Sunday naps with this little one)

2. Puppy Barn Therapy. Need I say more?

3. Looking at pictures that make you long for summer, hiking, camping, Chaco wearing, and a diploma.
Okay, I'm going to be honest with you on that last one. It actually makes the Senioritis worse because then you can't stop thinking about graduating and going on adventures.

I have to keep reminding myself that there are only 31 more school days left. That's only one month.

 ONE MONTH.

UNO MONTH-O.
(lol I obvi don't speak Spanish)

SOOOOO... on that note, I'm going to try my hardest to make these last few weeks EPIC.
Like maybe become a true Jaguar and kiss on the football field?
Party it up at Senior Dinner Dance?
Spend more time with my friends, especially because most of them are going on missions real soon.
Stay caught up in my classes so I am less stressed? (ha. who am i kidding. this is going to be so hard)
Think positive thoughts.
Drink more lemonade.
Not sluff photography as much...

ok that's all.
live life like you only have 31 more days left of high school, because that really is all you have.

Dinner Failure

Okay, so this post title lied a little bit. (but just a little tiny bit).

Dinner wasn't a COMPLETE failure.

So my mom needed to take my sister to basketball practice tonight so she put me in charge of making dinner. Cashew chicken, simple enough right? WRONG! In my defense, this was a new recipe that we had never tried, we found it on the internet (darn you internet). I was 100% following the recipe, I mean I was RELIGIOUSLY following the instructions because I DID NOT want to mess this up. Well the chicken was covered in a cornstarch mixture, which caked onto the bottom of the pan. It wasn't burned *yet* but it created a film of chicken slime.
((That is a really nasty way of phrasing that. I apologize.))
So I just keep stirring the chicken and adding the other ingredients (like rice vinegar, teriyaki sauce, garlic, scallops, etc.) and I begin to notice that the chicken film on the bottom of the pan was turning a darker shade of tan-ish brown. So I turn the heat down a couple of notches and continue to mix and toss the chicken.
Then half of the bottom of the pan burns.
So here I am trying to stir the chicken concoction on only one side of the pan. Sounds like fun, right?
When the chicken was done, I turned off the heat, added the cashews and moved the pan to a different element.
I wait like 15ish minutes and then decide to eat, so I move the pan to a little pot holder thing.
Apparently that was a bad idea (see above picture)

So yeah, that was cool.

My domestic card had momentarily been shredded. But it's okay because on another night I will make a dinner that will blow everybody's socks off. Just you wait!

April Conference

| |  April Conference Preparations  | |

Over spring break, Ham and I went downtown to take some pictures for photography. SO. MUCH. FUN.

We decided last minute to take a tour of the Conference Center (okay, it's more like I begged her to take the tour with me because I really wanted to go to the top...)

If you are ever in Utah, I highly recommend taking the tour. Just think, 21,000 seats, 97 languages, and millions of viewers. How incredible is that??

This week I've read at least one conference talk each day to prepare myself to hear what the Prophets and Apostles have to say.
Here are some of my favorite talks:

These are just of few of the talks that I have read this week and really enjoyed. Seriously though, I am so excited for this upcoming conference and the opportunity we all have to listen to modern day prophets give us guidance and direction. I feel like this is a very pivotal point in my life and I will soon be making decisions that will impact me for the rest of my life, so you better believe that I am excited to eat up the words and guidance that I receive this weekend!

soooooo
Don't forget to watch conference this weekend!!
& if you already have plans, you can watch it (or re-watch) ALL of the talks on lds.org

"Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do."
--2 Nephi 32:3

Remember,,, feasting upon the words of Christ doesn't just mean reading and studying the scriptures (although that is an EXTREMELY good and righteous thing to do), but it also means opening our heart and mind to the modern words of Christ, which is given to us through our prophets and apostles. The things that these men and women have to say to us is, without a doubt, INSPIRED. These words are meant for US!

okay, I'm done with my whole shpill.
